Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British American artist and a sitarist, is well known for her musical talents. She was also the youngest and first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shakar, a young rising star on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the student of Ravi Shankar as well as his daughter. She was born in London in 1982. In during her early years, she swam in London New Delhi. At the age of 13, she gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi. Then, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in 1999. Even though she's very young, Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording. Her father has been with her to numerous performances over some time. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. She released Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year later. Stage performances are a large part of her career. She's played in many important venues across the globe. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi the love of My Live, a biographical picture dedicating to her dad Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. Also, she has acted. In 2003's film Dance Like a Man, where she portrayed an Bharat Natyam dancer young girl. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to grow and we are likely to see a variety of things from her in years to follow. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England spent a large part of her life between London Delhi. Following her move to California she graduated from her high school. When she was nine years old, she began her studies in music under her father. She made her first on the sitar 4 years later at his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka gained a lot of knowledge by traveling across the globe together with the father. She played in Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. The House of Commons Shield was awarded in her honor from the British Parliament in recognition of being the top Asian Arts musician. She is the sole female and is the smallest recipient of this prize.
